Rocket League - What’s Coming After The Autumn Update

Wednesday, September 13, 2017 7:24:10 PM America/Los_Angeles

Psyonix will soon be launching quite the hefty upgrade for Rocket League this drop, so strap in and get a load of these new features, maps, and modes.

This is a seasonal stadium which will be available in Competitive, Casual, and Private modes. The map is only going to be around for a limited time, thus the title of seasonal.

Secondly, there'll be over 90 free customization items that you can acquire in the drops following matches or out of Trade-Ins. These items range from Uncommon to Black Market, so there's plenty to accumulate and play for.

There is is also a new car coming into the Accelerator Crate, the Jäger 619 RS. If you did not guess from the title, this battle car is inspired by a few different European high-end automobiles, like the Ferrari. You can also win trails, goal explosions, and animated brakes in the Accelerator Crate.

We have the debut of Player Banners. Now you can view your username on your selection of six banner ads. Some of them are quite badass, such as the Starbase ARC, other reflect the humour of this match: a bouncing unicorn, a penguin with a space helmet, or even a pizza dripping cheese.

During the new season you'll be able to win Player Banners specific to the highest skill tier you attained. All of them are variety of dragon coiled around the banner with the appropriate color, such as Bronze, Silver, Diamond, and a glowing glowing purple for Grand Champ.

The rest of the upgrade includes improvements to the gameplay. There are now transparent goalposts, limited-time occasions for the season, decryptors (rare items which may unlock any crate), enhanced in-game blog, manager manner (a new spectator mode), and finally LAN support for PC players. Rocket League is getting a massive Autumn Update on all platforms come 28th September that will keep the esport growing in a myriad of ways.

Rocket League's Autumn Update also kicks off Season 6. Among the most readily apparent additions will be seasonal arenas. This autumn we are going to be receiving a rural-themed map named Farmstead.

Events can also reward players with a brand new item called a Decryptor, which can unlock any crate with no key. The Autumn Update will also incorporate a beta for Director style, which is a speculative mode that offers a more cinematic presentation. "This AI-powered camera cuts to the most important player's perspective based on what is going on in the match," programmer Psyonix boasted. "It may even predict future shots also saves to discover the best angles!"

This upgrade will also introduce LAN service on PC, however no other programs are mentioned. Hopefully these will follow down the line.

That's not the sole PC-exclusive feature in this update as a Tournaments manner is being added using a beta going live on Steam later this year before a final version goes multi-platform next year. "For those wondering why the beta is 'PC-only,' it's because Steam allows us to create changes and gather performance feedback more quickly than any other platform,".
