The last time Jeremy Lane was on a professional football field before this Sunday was against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX. Lane suffered a gruesome injury in that game as he fell awkwardly on his arm after picking off a Tom Brady pass intended for Julian Edelman.
Just less than 10 months later, Lane returned to the field for the Seahawks' Week 12 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It did not take long for him to make his presence known. On Pittsburgh's third drive of the game, the Steelers drove down to the Seattle 27-yard line, from which they faced 4th down and 2 yards to go.
The first quarter came to an end after the third down play and head coach Mike Tomlin sent out the fied goal unit at the start of the second. But Pittsburgh motioned out of its field goal set and put backup QB Landry Jones deep in the shotgun. The ensuing play... did not go well for Pittsburgh.
But it did go well for Jeremy Lane! That's a pick in his first game back from an absolutely heartbreaking injury. Can't help but feel good for him.
