Anthony Davis is out against the Thunder, as is Omer Asik. The Pelicans only have nine players available to play, per Pelicans.com's Jim Eichenhofer: Alexis Ajinca, Ryan Anderson, Luke Babbitt, Dante Cunningham, Toney Douglas, Jimmer Fredette, Alonzo Gee, Eric Gordon and Ish Smith. Yikes.
After sustaining a shoulder injury vs. the Nuggets Tuesday night, Pelicans forward Anthony Davis is listed as a questionable probable starter Wednesday night vs. the Thunder.
So if he plays, he'll start, is how to read that. But it's a crazy way of describing his status. Either way, it appears he'll be a true game-time decision. AD was on the flight with teammates to OKC so at least it's possible he'll play. You would think "questionable" would just summarize this sufficiently, but apparently it's important to note that if a top-five player in the league is available, he won't come off the bench. You know, just in case you were curious or confused.
Anyway, he might play, he might not, but if he does play, he'll start. We probably need better terms for these kinds of things.
