During the Denver Nuggets' overtime loss Saturday night in Oakland, Kenneth Faried had a collision with teammate Will Barton that sent him to the ground. There were real worries that he had suffered a lower neck injury that could be quite serious. He was put in a neck brace and put on a stretcher as he headed to an Oakland-area hospital for testing.
Faried posted on Sunday morning an Instagram photo of him in the neck brace and said he was feeling much better. He's feeling so much better that he's been discharged from the hospital in Oakland, traveled back to Denver, and will try to play Sunday night when the Nuggets host the Portland Trail Blazers.
This is a remarkable turnaround for Faried. It's fair to wonder if he should even try to play and whether or not the Nuggets should sit him out, but if there isn't anything medically wrong with him preventing him from playing then it should be safe to have him join his teammates on the floor.
