The Cleveland Cavaliers suffered a devasting loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday and now their ability to play against elite teams is beginning to be questioned. The loss has caused LeBron James to push his teammates, and himself, even more than he's been doing all season.
"It's about the drive and how insane you are about wanting to be great," James said. "I have a little insanity."
That "little insanity" and drive has helped James throughout his career. And once again he is calling on it to lead his team.
This may be why James decided to post a quote from UFC's Conor McGregor to Instagram on Wednesday. The quote is about one's own internal drive to be great, something that James has frequently talked about in the past. McGregor's quote focuses on the obsessiveness nature of this type of drive, which seemingly really resonated with James.
James is clearly motivated by the loss to Golden State and is using whatever he can, like McGregor's quote, to motivate himself. If the Cavs end up rattling off a few wins and going on a long winning streak, James may have to get something nice for McGregor to thank him for the inspiration.
