Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice declared on Thursday that Bryan Little, now his team's second-leading scorer, will be sidelined for the rest of the regular season using a compression fracture of the vertebrae that were T6.
The injury occurred last week when Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Anton Stralman during a match leveled Little. It was a devestating open ice hit that infuriated Maurice and angered the Jets. Maurice was so upset Stralman had not been ejected that he ended up getting after screaming in the officials on two occasions throughout the match himself ejected in the match.
Sitting 14 points the Jets' playoff hopes losing Little is not going to do anything to help that and are pretty much gone.
