GTA 5 Rockstar Editor DLC Rumors: 'Low Life', 'Stunt Races' Included In August Update

Sunday, August 23, 2015 7:34:11 PM America/Los_Angeles

Earlier this week, iDigitalTime's own Bob Fekete reported a load of new details regarding the upcoming GTA 5 Rockstar Editor update, which will be in the next DLC that is expected to arrive before the end of August. According to the Rockstar Newswire, the Rockstar Editor that has been exclusive to the PC version for some time is finally coming to PS4 and XBox One consoles.

For the console gamers that are not familiar with Rockstar Editor, it is a feature that allows players to create their very own short films using Rockstar's gaming engine. The films could be a stupid funny fail compilation or as elaborate as a fully scripted and cinematic experience. Rockstar encourages GTA 5 players to explore Rockstar Editor and push its boundaries as regular Rockstar Editor competitions are held, with the winnings getting cool prizes.

The keyword in the report from Rockstar Newswire is that the upcoming Rockstar Editor for PS4 and Xbox One will arrive in the next GTA 5 DLC, which suggests that the new feature is only one component of a bigger update. That said, what else should we be expecting in the future GTA 5 DLC?

First, let's go over something with close correlation to Rockstar Editor: a new stunt race creator content will be the perfect addition. Instead of just a standalone Rockstar Editor, a stunt race creator will allow players to make new custom races and challenges, specifically opening up new areas including Los Santos International Airport and the Fort Zancudo Military Base for stunt races and games.

“We can’t wait to see what the Creator community cooks up in those previously off-limits areas,” said Rockstar. “We’ve received lots of other fantastic feedback to the official GTA Online feedback inbox from the Creator community about features they’d like to see. One such update that we are currently working on for a next update is a new feature to enable creators to properly stack props, adding proper support for that highly-requested feature powering super fun mega-ramps, loops and parkour courses – please stay tuned for more information on that."

Secondly, recount the GTA 5 2X RP and 2X payout weekends from last month. Rockstar was inexplicably generous and encouraged GTA 5 players to replay the missions from the Heists DLC. However, what is Rockstar really trying to do? Is the 2X Money and 2X RP promo is enabling players to rapidly level up and gain a mountain of money. Is this to prep us for something bigger that they're having in store?

The next DLC won't be GTA 5 Ill-Gotten Gains Part 3, but we expect a bounty of weapons, cars, and clothes along the way. According to GTA forums, game codes suggest there are as many as 12 new cars that are slated to arrive in future updates, including a variety of muscle cars as well as malaise-era American cars like the Virgo, Clean Voodoo,  Sabre GT, Chino, Buccaneer, Tornado, and Slamvan.

Those are the two main additions we expect to join Rockstar Editor in the next GTA 5DLC update. Note we did not mention the GTA 5 Single Player DLC at all. Sorry guys, you'll have to stay tuned for more details on that.
