You guys remember Damien Brunner? He was the Swiss hockey star that came over and had a great first year with the Detroit Red Wings in the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season before moving on to the New Jersey Devils where things didn't go as well.
He returned to the NLA, Switzerland's top professional league after flaming out with the Devils last season and is back starring for HC Lugano. No one ever denied the immense skill that Brunner possesses and that was on full display in a recent game against SC Bern.
After the two teams ended regulation tied 2-2, Brunner was called upon with the game on the line in the shootout. Turns out he was the right guy for the job. Poor Jakub Stepanek never had a chance here.
The “are you not entertained” celebration is the perfect punctuation mark on that absolute clowning of a goaltender.
This is actually pretty much the same move Brunner used to score in his first shootout attempt in the NHL.
Sergei Bobrovsky almost stopped it, but even he got fooled by the wizardry of the Swiss forward.
