Henrik Sedin is the passing Sedin. Daniel Sedin is the goal-scoring Sedin. That's one of the ways to differentiate between the twin brothers. Henrik is also the Vancouver Canucks' all-time leader in points and assists, but Daniel will own a team record his brother isn't going to touch.
With a two-goal performance against the Boston Bruins in a 4-2 victory Thursday night, Daniel Sedin became the Canucks' all-time leading goal scorer, passing fellow Swede Markus Naslund for the crown.
With brother Henrik sidelined by an injury, Daniel set the record with the goal that proved to be the winner and added an empty-netter to extend his team record which he'll only continue to build on. It could be a long, long time before anyone comes close to matching Daniel's goal total for the Canucks.
With the first goal, Sedin also secured the 10th season of 20 goals or more in a career that has been spent in its entirety in Vancouver. It also moves him to 128 goals ahead of Henrik, who ranks seventh on the Canucks' franchise list.
The Sedins are so often tied together, but this night belonged solely to Daniel and this record should be his for years and years to come.
