The Browns are really having a day. They closed the book on a 3-13 season but didn't land the No. 1 overall pick, fired their head coach and GM and are in a full-blown crisis mode with their alleged franchise quarterback, Johnny Manziel.
Manziel was reportedly seen in Las Vegas on Saturday night despite being in the concussion protocol and, according to Peter King reporting on NBC's Sunday Night Football, he was basically AWOL and the Browns are "so done" with him it's not even funny.
Going AWOL in Week 17 and not showing up Sunday is inexplicable behavior. And no one with the Browns has any idea of whether he was actually in Vegas, including the owner.
The Browns are sitting at the No. 2 overall pick in next year's draft and it stands to reason, barring them hiring someone who is a HUGE fan of Manziel (Chip Kelly? Kevin Sumlin?), they end up drafting a quarterback.
The offseason checklist is pretty clear: Find a coach, find a general manager (the coach will help look!) and figure out the quarterback situation.
Part of the final step sounds like it will be figuring out how much Jerry Jones and the Cowboys will give up in order to acquire Manziel as a backup.
Good luck with that, everyone.
