Pick one player and one team and one time for a walk-off touchdown and the last player and team and time you'd pick would be Blaine Gabbert, the 49ers and today. Should've picked him sooner.
Gabbert defied the odds and hit Torrey Smith for a 71-yard bomb to beat the Bears on the road.
But wait! There's more! Gabbert also scored earlier in the game, tying things up, by doing his best Colin Kaepernick impersonation and sprinting down the field 44 yards for a score.
We could make jokes about cats and dogs living together and hell freezing over, but the reality is Gabbert's looked better than Kaepernick in the brief time he's played. He's checked down a lot but he's been a pretty good quarterback and appeared substantially improved over his play when with the Jaguars.
Doesn't matter who you are or where it happened, going on the road and throwing a walk-off touchdown pass in overtime is impressive.
