On Monday, Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin brought in a two- for taking another stick across the ice mintue penalty.
Everything occurred in the the third period when his stick was lost by Evgeny Kuznetsov through the play. Ovechkin then continued to pick it up and try to throw Kuznetsov it.
This, needless to say, is a penalty. According to rule 10.3 you are not permitted to throw, pitch, slip or shoot a teammate's stick back to them after they've lost it during play.
Luckily for the Capitals it did not end up damaging them as they were competent to hold on for a 3-2 triumph to Ovechkin's 39th goal of the season.
They're the first team in NHL history.
